HOME FOR 150 DISABLED ORPHAN KIDS AT MYSURU, INDIA ( #24535 )

SNEHA GOODU PROJECT REPORT DUE DATE : 22.3.2017

Balajothi’s long time dream and vision is to build a home for 150 disabled orphan kids in the royal city of Mysuru, in Karnataka State, India.  This is our commitment to the disabled community and our hope is that it will become a reality sooner than later.  The disabled community in general and the mentally challenged in particular  in India, needs much help and support but sadly lacks both.

Balajothi has stepped in to fill this void.  It is a daunting challenge but we strongly believe we can and will achieve our dream.  As a first step we have launched this project on GlobalGiving. The project is named ‘Sneha Goodu’.  In the Indian context it translates as ‘Nest of Friendship’.  And it is apt for the concept that it carries.  Can you imagine a group of 150 children with various disabilities such as autism, mental retardation, cerebral palsy and multiple disabilities coming together and living under one roof ?  This is what we at Balajothi have set out to do.

What is this home all about ?  What is so special about this home, you may well ask.  As the name and the concept suggests, firstly, it is a place filled with children  with disabilities, from diverse backgrounds.  Be the child a moslem, hindu,  Christian or any other religion, matters little.  One thing they have in common is  disability and from this disability comes their strength and their ability to learn, to work or live together.

Friends and well wishers from around the globe have raised till date a sum of $ 462.00  as against the requirement of $ 75,000.00.  A long way to go and a long wait, nevertheless it is worthwhile and some day in the near future Sneha Goodu will be a reality, thanks to you !!  We place our hope and belief in you knowing that you have brought us thus far and will help us reach the goal.

Call-to-action : One way of making a quicker progress is for all of you kind and generous people out there to come forward and pledge a small amount every month, on a regular basis, for this cause.  And the figures will speak for themselves.  You will surely be surprised with the result !!

Come, let’s join our hands together to create a beautiful home for these children which will bring immeasurable joy in their lives.  An individual may not be able to achieve this dream but surely a group can.
