During January 2020, we received in Argentina a very special visit: nursing students from the University of Oshkosh, United States. We love to make Alliances with other institutions to encourage cultural exchange and enrich each other!
On January 20th, we received them at San José Elderly Home where they trained about our way of working and carried out lot of activities such as a guided tour of the Home and a class of laughter therapy.
In addition, within the framework of this visit, a discussion called “The attention focused on the elderly and respect for their dignity from the institutions” was organized.
The objective was to debate and expose the attention to the elderly from different approaches and make visible the current gerontological intervention approach, the autonomy of the elderly, their independence and the therapeutic role of everyday life.
It was an amazing afternoon where we learned a lot from different speakers!
Mensajeros de la Paz has a vast experience in the elderly and has a professional team made up of social workers, psychologists, psychogerontologists with a history of more than 18 years that assists more than 150 elderly people directly.
Thank you for making this possible!
