It's a tradicion getting dirty when you degree
Today with 80 years of age, Juan received the title of Librarian from the National School of Librarians.
An example of life and perseverance, he wrote this letter to thank us.
Juan arrived at Mensajeros de La Paz 8 years ago. We met him at the Community Center we had in the street Urquiza (CABA), then he went through Centro Santa Ana and San Joaquin and currently attends the Club de Día where in addition to participating in activities designed to promote active adulthood, he is responsible for the library.
On Saturdays Juan participates in Apoyo Escolar assisting volunteers and kids to find books and information to strengthen and improve their educational level.
JUAN CONGRATULATIONS! Mensajeros de La Paz are eternally grateful to move along this path with you. Please keep showing us that it is never too late!

In the CABA, January 01/04/16, I reach to the Comunidad de la 3ra edad, installed in the Hogar San Jose, belonging to the Asociación Civil Mensajeros de la Paz, as well as to Lic. Hugo Cattoni, and also to Professor Leticia Castorina and Mrs. Analia Chamorro, who is always very gentle with the elders.
Throughout my student experience once again the Elderly are "present" to modern society, to locate us with it, sharing new technologies of information and knowledge of this century.
Elders are graduates of the best university, the University of Life, which teaches us:
If you want, it is possible
Time and effort is the basis for a happy ending
Persevere and you will succeed
No pain no gain
Help others and they will help you
It is never too late for anything
My humility, my values, my conscience, my heart and my wisdom, tell me I'm not the only example. There are many and many grandparents who today occupy a prominent place in society, by contacting with their peers, from their ability, dedication and effort. This I am aware and I can assure you because I have seen it.
Obviously, like all Careers, It was not easy, quite the opposite, It was very difficult. I knew I would find many "stones and rubble" that would make me fall, then soon enough I would get up and continue to rely on my perseverance, dedication and patience, faith in God that one day I would get to the top of the mountain, putting the best of my personality, time and effort.
Over four years, starting April 9, 2012 until December 18, 2015, I met another level of people with different types of treatment. In regard to the good relationship of the people, first I was "alone" as if in an inhospitable jungle, not knowing anyone, but time took care of presenting me as another one, and I became part of the family.
Behind me there was a lot of people who supported me tirelessly. Those are the ones that I could not disappoint. That was my best responsibility, reach the top of the mountain, climbing, climbing and climbing, I got there.
I share this achievement with the Cuerpo Docente de la Escuela Nacional de Bibliotecarios, my colleagues of the course, and all those who in one way or another supported me, they gave me courage to reach a happy ending. I thank God. To my friends, Hugo (“Juan, estudiá o es-tu-diá”)Leticia (“Genio Juan, grande Juan”) to Analia, for her dedication and love for the Elderly. And I can not forget our beloved director Jorge Porras, today absent for family reasons, Maria Eugenia, Victoria (Viqui). To all, I love them all.
Juan
