Mensajeros de la Paz carried out the first part of the 6th Companies Solidarity Day with volunteering activities that help hunderts of girls, boys and elderlies.

The Association initiated the Companies Solidarity Day in 2011. Until now more than 500 volunteers participated working for companies like MAPFRE, SHERWIN WILLIAMS, CRUZ DEL SUR, NEXTEL, ODEBRECHT, MICROSOFT, ACCENTURE, ANDINO Y EL PAÍS, IRSA, TELECOM, UCA, COLGATE and LEXMARK.

The Residence San José is a magical place. Despite their age the grannies never stop to enjoy the arrival of new volunteers. We had the chance to carry out the Companies Solidarity Day with this spirit.

The companies' volunteers did not hesitate to tackle the job.

A group of women with lots of cosmetics and beauty produtcs started to do the elderlies make-up, to paint their nails and try out new hairstyles.

We became witnesses of common haidresser's scences where the ladies, while getting their hair done, told anecdotes and stories of their lifes.

Meanwhile another group of volunteers was working in the garden doing demanding work like cleaning and painting.

To the rhythm of the beat the volunteers mowed the lawn, did gardening jobs and painted many flowerbeds and garden benches which had already lost their colour.

The work was exhausting but definitely worth it. We sat down afterwards to have lunch together and spoke about the importance of us being there, giving our time and receiving so much love and affection by San José's grannies.

When we said goodbye they thanked us again and with sparkling eyes they exclaimed:See you next year!“.
