SAN JOSE place is a house where grandmothers and female elders live. It is a very beautiful and very nice place with a garden full of trees site. There they can enjoy the day.
The day I went there, 13 years old students from 1st year of an argentinean school went to spend time with grandmothers. They enjoyed sharing a time with them, at first they read stories and painted their nails.
Usually, young people who come also help in the garden but this day was too cold outside so we all had to stay indoors and all the students have distributed with all the grandmothers.
It was very cool for me to see some young people who at first were a bit lost to actually adapt and start enjoying this time. You coulomb see in the faces of young people that they loved to share time with them, chatting and everything, it was very nice.
As everybody else there I moved from one table to another to chat with everyone, asking young people what they wanted to do when they grow up, where they had traveled and many other things.
All seemed very happy to tell me a little of their lives. I got asked a lot, I think they were really interested in me knowing that I was a foreigner. After all the talk we have gathered to play bingo. It was my favorite time, we were all together, all attentive to understand the numbers out.
Two girls were there which screamed the numbers that resounded in the room and they were all very focused, it gave me great pleasure to see all the young and old to smile and laugh, shouting and rising the fastest possible when they were lines with which you would almost win the game.
The last part of the evening was when the kids brought gifts for grandmas, then every time the elders had a line, grandmothers were given a gift, you could tell that there were very pleased to have gifts. I found it very funny to see young people chatting and laughing with them, and the grandmothers that seemed very happy to talk to them. I spend a very good time in Hogar San José, and enjoyed many stories with the grandmothers and the young kids.At the end we all had a photo taken in which we all had to group together, it was really funny. I am actually not be used to be in places like San Jose because I'm just starting my volunteer but this experience gave me a lot of pleasure and desire to continue.
It was all a very nice moment.
