Bringing Joy and Color to Meraki Home

Meraki Home, our safe space for girls at social risk in Buenos Aires, recently welcomed an incredible team of volunteers from PRIAR, Banco Galicia’s volunteering program. With a shared mission to transform the Home, they arrived ready to make a difference. Pencils in one hand and paintbrushes in the other, they created vibrant murals throughout the Home, filling each space with bright colors and joy. One highlight is the stunning hummingbird mural at the entrance, a symbol of hope that now greets everyone who passes by.

We’re Almost There: Help Us Finish the Renovations!

While the volunteers have brought new life to Meraki, our journey isn’t over yet. We need your support to complete the renovations on the first floor, where we plan to create a craft room and common space. This will be a place for the girls to fulfill their dream of having a sewing workshop—a safe, creative environment where they can express themselves. This space will empower the girls to learn valuable skills, like sewing and working with fabric, opening doors to future opportunities and building their confidence. Together, we can make this dream workshop a reality!

Saying Goodbye to Summer with a Big Smile

The project "Home for Girls at Social Risk in Argentina" aims to provide a safe and nurturing environment for girls facing social challenges. As summer comes to an end and the new school year approaches, Meraki Home continues its dedicated efforts to offer enriching experiences for the girls under its care.

During the past month, one notable activity organized by Meraki Home was a visit to Bioparque Temaikèn. This excursion provided the girls with a unique opportunity to engage with nature while learning about the importance of conservation and environmental stewardship.

These are some of the key highlights:

Educational Experience: The visit to Bioparque Temaikèn facilitated hands-on learning experiences for the girls. They had the chance to observe various species of animals and plants, gaining insights into biodiversity and the interconnectedness of ecosystems.
Environmental Awareness: Through guided tours and interactive exhibits, the girls learned about environmental issues such as habitat destruction, climate change, and wildlife conservation. These lessons were presented in an age-appropriate manner, sparking curiosity, and instilling a sense of responsibility towards the environment.
Bonding and Recreation: Beyond the educational aspect, the trip provided an opportunity for the girls to bond with each other and with the staff of Meraki Home. Sharing moments of discovery and wonder amidst the natural beauty of Bioparque Temaikèn strengthened their sense of community and belonging.

The visit to Bioparque Temaikèn was a valuable addition to the ongoing efforts of Meraki Home to provide holistic support and enrichment for the girls. By offering experiences that blend education, recreation, and social interaction, the project continues to nurture the girls' personal growth and development.
