Dear GlobalGiving Suporters,
With great enthusiasm, we share the progress achieved in the community of San Jose Chiltepec: the successful implementation of 15 home gardens, where a variety of vegetables such as radishes, cilantro, tomatoes, tree chili, pumpkin, cucumber, and snap beans have been cultivated.
Training activities have been a crucial component of our work with the communities, focusing on developing skills for producing organic compounds. This strategy, which we have previously implemented with other groups, has yielded positive results, particularly with the use of natural insect repellents and organic insecticides such as garlic extracts.
The production quality achieved by project participants has been exceptional, bringing us immense joy, especially considering the challenges posed by strong heat waves and delays in the rainy season that have affected many local producers.
While we are pleased with the positive outlook, we also acknowledge the new challenges climate change presents. We are committed to addressing these challenges intelligently, innovatively, and feasibly, working with the communities to adapt as effectively as possible.
With a firm commitment to conservation, we extend a warm greeting and express our sincere gratitude for your continued support.
Marco Acevedo, Program Officer, Mexico
