This is the message every new parent the world over needs to hear. Birth and postpartum can be a very isolating and scary time in the best of circumstances.
Birth is a time of immense transition emotionally, physically and socially. and every new mom and dad face a steep learning curve
Informed and empowered new parents will always be a better caregivers to their baby as well as taking care of eachother.
This is why MamiCare includes dads in our prenatal trainings.
This is why our midwife goes to moms at home if they can't get out.
This is why our midwife and the psychologist offer well mom visits online and on the phone.
This is why we keep looking to include more moms not only in Tirana, but throughout Albania and in the Albanian-speaking diaspora.
We thank you for your giving and your prayers. Together, we have come alongside these moms, giving them resources they didn't know existed and finding strength they didn't know they had.
What is new?
We are making new connections to others providing services to expectant and new parents including -
Dr Ernald, a well-established ObGyn in our neighborhood who has been looking for a reliable midwife to visit his patients after they give birth.
Blenda, a baby physical therapist who specializes in neck tension that is so often at the root of feeding problems. We are planning a class for newborns with her in the center as well as set up for visits with her.
Dina, a specialist in pregnancy and postpartum exercise and nutrition who we can work with to reach pregnant moms so they can have healthier pregnancies.
Ninehana, a startup to provide a space online for pregnant moms to find community and answers to their questions.
We pray that these bridges to care beyond what we have now will help create a healthy pathway for moms today and into the future.
