Physical limitations cannot stop me from exploring the world.
Grandma Meigui has Parkinson's disease. As a result, she cannot walk steadily, and her hands tremble when reaching for things. Despite these challenges, she remains passionate about attending the Bulao Joy Band at the Hondao Chaozhou Volunteer Station every Wednesday, where she enjoys music and connects with fellow members.
Although she lives alone, she loves chatting with others. Whenever she sees fellow band members or Hondao staff, she waves and greets them enthusiastically. This time, she overcame all obstacles to join everyone in the festive New Year’s parade in the neighborhood.
During the parade, Grandma sat in her wheelchair at the front, watching as volunteers energized the crowd. Neighbors along the way also greeted everyone with cheerful New Year’s wishes. Grandma’s smile never faded from her face.
At the start of the New Year, being surrounded by familiar friends and caring volunteers brings warmth and joy to the heart. We hope this moment of warmth and blessings will keep our grandpas and grandmas joyful throughout the year.
