We are pleased to share that initial steps toward launching this project are underway. While program implementation has not yet begun, we have made meaningful progress through early engagement with key stakeholders in Jamaica.
Over the past period, our team has initiated conversations with community leaders, service providers, and potential partners. These discussions have been instrumental in helping us better understand the current landscape of mental health needs, existing gaps in services, and culturally relevant approaches to care.
Through this stakeholder engagement, we have gathered valuable insights that are directly informing our planning process. This includes identifying priority communities, understanding barriers to accessing care such as stigma and limited resources, and exploring opportunities for collaboration to ensure the sustainability of interventions.
These early efforts are critical in laying a strong foundation for the project. By listening first and building relationships, we are ensuring that the services we deliver will be responsive, community-informed, and impactful.
In the coming phase, we will continue strengthening partnerships, finalizing logistics, and preparing our team to deliver psychosocial support services, including WHO PM+ interventions, workshops, and community wellness activities.
We would be grateful for your support as we seek to move from planning to implementation.
