Children in Orphanages deserve to have summer camps, and in Honduras the only such camps available are sports. We believe that to foster hope and dreams for the future, it is imperative to show these children what kind of jobs they could have, and give them space to dream. HOPE Camps are focused on Science and the Arts, each a week long, learning from local Hondurans, creating with their hands, and taking time to dream about what life outside the orphanage walls.
Children living in orphanages need access to dream for a future outside the walls of the orphanage. They do not get to see jobs or dream of what they can do with their lives and for many, camps are one of the only times they leave the orphanage. For the majority of children, the only camps they have access to are sports camps.
We have partnered with 5 orphanage homes in Honduras to provide HOPE camps. These week-long camps are aimed to show children in orphanages an example of what they could do with their lives outside the orphanage, and dream about a future. Children are taught by local Hondurans in both Science and the Arts, and then also create with their hands art and science experiments to make the lessons come alive. By providing these camps we, simply, provide HOPE.
This project with show 100 children what a life outside the orphanage could look like. It will instill hope and a desire to dream for a future.
