The (HAF) plans to solve the problem of limited access to reconstructive surgeries for the people with deformities by organizing and funding surgical missions.We will also offer surgical instruction to local surgeons and build a state-of-the-art microsurgical unit in A.A Ethiopia.The center will be equipped to provide quality reconstructive surgeries to Ethiopian children with deformities.Not having safe access to life-changing reconstructive surgery can mean a lifetime of pain & sufering.
In Ethiopia,currently a plastic surgery not available in an adequated way. And also 1/3of the people of Ethiopia currently live at or below the poverty line, many Ethiopians with deformities have no access to the reconstructive surgery they need to lead healthy, normal lives.(EHMR)rep, These young people often find themselves unable to work and confined to living inside their home due to the stigma of deformity. Without income, those who don't have supportive families often end up on the street.
The Haddis Agape Foundation will meet these challenges by sending skilled European surgeons on surgical missions to Ethiopia. During these missions, the surgeons will teach local surgeons the skills and knowledge required to successfully complete complex reconstructive surgical procedures. The long-term goal is that local healthcare providers will be able to take over and provide sustainable solutions to the people of Ethiopia.
Initially, we hope to support seven surgical missions per year. These surgeries will treat 80 patients suffering from complex deformities while transferring knowledge and skills to the local surgeons. By training with some of the world's best reconstructive surgeons, Ethiopian surgeons.
