There are currently 1,200-3000 street children living in Juba, Capital City of South Sudan according to NGO Confident Children Out of Conflict. Although Trust Guarantee Community Development Aid is working diligently to support the children, the children who are either orphans or separated from families live in open and risky streets, eat left overs they find on bins, are sexually abused, face risks of HIV and AIDS infection, are traumatized and lack access to education and protection services.
TGCDA provides safe housing, education,psycho-social support, life skills training, family tracing and reunification and referrals for medical care. This project will establish a child friendly space where 200 street boys and girls can access the services in a safe and a secure environment.
The project will educate 200 street children allowing them to rise out of indignity and risks they face living in the streets. The children will have a safe and a clean space to stay where decent, regular and nutritious meals will be served to them. A Professional counselor will provide psycho-social support to to the children to enable them recover from trauma.
