Through the project build a child friendly centre is being build for orphans and street children in Juba, South Sudan. In the centre, Trust Guarantee Community Aid (TGCDA) has began to provide the children with a safe space to stay, three hot and nutritious meals on a daily basis, accessing them to basic education, psycho-social support services, providing referral for medical treatment, basic life skills training, family/ caregivers tracing and reunification. The direct beneficiaries are 200 homeless street children, who are oprhans and/or separated from their families/ caregivers and traumatized by persistent intercommunal violence.
The project is working towards the social reintegration of these vulnerable children, enabling them to lead fulfilling lives and becoming productive members of society. By implementing a comprehensive approach the project is combining immediate relief with long-term solutions, it aims to create sustainable positive change for these street children. The project has fostered collaborations with local businesses and organizations creating employment opportunities for 20 (11 Female and 9 Male) older street children. Furthermore, strengthened community engagement and fostering a sense of ownership to ensure the sustainability of the project.
