Educate 200 Street Children in South Sudan

Update to Project Context:

 Generally, there were no major changes in the project implementation areas and a cross schools supported under the project in Juba County. The weather has been extremely hot during day and windy at night. However, there have been some minimal rains; but all the project locations were accessible making all the possibilities of transporting construction materials and other learning items from Juba City to Rokon Payam. All the schools resumed learning after a short closure of all schools in the country by the Ministry of General Education and Instruction; due to extreme heat wave.

Project Goal:

Increasing Basic, Accessible, Equitable and Protective Quality Education to 200 Street Children in Rokon Payam, JubaCounty, Central Equatoria State in South Sudan 

Objective 1: Conduct 3 Community Engagement Awareness Raising Workshop with 40 (20 Females and 20 Males) Key Community Stakeholders and Education Actors on Back to Schools- Enrolments and Retention of Street School-Going Children Using the CAC Model 


Outcome 1: Enhanced Capacity Building of Education Actors and Key Local Community Leaders on Back to Schools- Enrolments and Retention of Street School-Going Children Using the CAC Model and Increased Cross-Cutting Issues Related Knowledge Among the Key Local Community Stakeholders and Education Actors


Output 1.1: Primary teachers and ECD caregivers trained on back to schools- enrolments and retention of street school-going children using the CAC Model and integrated community management acute malnutrition, personal and school sanitation and hygiene promotion, Child Protection referral mechanisms, Cholera prevention and control, lifesaving skills, psychosocial support and increased cross cutting issues related knowledge among the key local community stakeholders in Rokon Payam.
