Hello from M’Lop Tapang!
It’s quite an exciting time here right now as after so many months of being closed, schools in Cambodia are starting reopen! Although for the last while we have had permission from authorities to allow a limited number of very high-risk children to attend daytime services at our Education Center for food, medical and social support, we are now able to swing open the classroom doors and start our teaching programs again.
“I felt so boring when I had to stay at home in the Covid-19 situation. I couldn’t go out and meet my friends. I’m very excited when the schools reopened. I love my M’Lop Tapang school so much because I can study, play with friends, and being here always make me feel safe.” Quote from Dara, a 14-year-old boy.
Having hundreds of children attending classes at our Center again also means they have a chance to enjoy a hot, nutritious lunch and break time snacks. You are helping to make this happen and we want to say thank you again for your support! It really means a lot to us and the children and youth we work with.
If you are interested, we just finished putting together a little video this week about classrooms reopening and have included the link below.
From everyone here at M’Lop Tapang, thank you again for your generosity and encouragement.
With gratitude,
Roth Chanphalkun (Kun)
