Hot lunches for 500 Cambodian children and youth

Greetings from all of us at M’Lop Tapang in Sihanoukville. Rain or shine, every day hundreds of children in our education and training programs sit down to a hot, nutritious lunch thanks to you. These meals give children from low-income families the strength and focus they need to learn, grow, and dream bigger.

At our Non-Formal Education Center, children who have been out of school for years are getting a second chance. Many come to class hungry, but through your support, they not only catch up on their studies, they also receive what is often their most nourishing meal of the day. Good food helps them stay motivated and ready to return to public school.

Hello from a wet and rainy Sihanoukville, Cambodia.

Thank you once again for your donations that support M’Lop Tapang to provide hot lunches for hundreds of children.

One of the programs that M’Lop Tapang operates in our Non-Formal Education (NFE) program for children who have never been to school or have been out of the school system for a long time.  The goal of the NFE program is to help them to catch up with their studies so that they can reintegrate back into the public school system.  A link to a short video of our NFE program is at the end of this report.

All of the boys and girls that attend classes in the NFE program come from very low-income families. Food security is a big issue for many of these families and children being able to have a hot healthy meal at M’Lop Tapang’s Education Center is a major bonus of attending NFE classes. For many of the children these free hot lunches will be their most nutritious meal of the day.  Your support ensures that we can keep providing hot meals to these boys and girls so that they can better concentrate on their studies.
