Healthy lunches

Hello again from M’Lop Tapang!

A huge thank you from all of us here for your support and donations. It has been incredibly busy here and with your help we are continuing to provide hundreds of hot lunches to children and youth in our education and training programs every day.

As we have said before, the meals we serve are not fancy, but they are healthy and nutritious and filling.

“I love the food here. I love breakfast too - sometimes we have porridge with braised-fish, sometimes porridge with pork. Today I had chicken soup for lunch and it was nice.” – quote 12-year-old Sinat* who attends M’Lop Tapang’s Education Center with her two younger sisters, aged 11 and 6 years old. The three girls live with the parents at one of the temporary construction sites near the beach.

Sinat is just one of more than 500 children that benefit from the hot lunches served at M’Lop Tapang. You are helping to make that happen with your donations! Thank you.

Lunchtime at M'Lop Tapang

Hello from M’Lop Tapang!

We wanted to thank you again for your generous donations that support the work we do with vulnerable children and youth here in the Sihanoukville area.

Schools in Cambodia reopened a few months ago and with your help hundreds of children attending classes at M’Lop Tapang’s Education Center are enjoying hot nutritious lunches every day. As we have said before, the meals are not always fancy but they are healthy and filling – and for many of the children these lunches are the most substantial meal they will have each day.

Your donations are making a difference in the lives of hundreds of children - like 12-year-old Sophea (name changed for confidentiality), the oldest of four children in her family. She has a younger sister who is 10 years old and two brothers, aged 7 and 4 years old. Their mother died in a road accident a few years ago and their father who finds part employment as a construction worker struggles to provide for the family. Recently all four of the children started attending classes at M’Lop Tapang.

“I am so happy to come to M’Lop Tapang every day now because me and my sister can study and here there are many friends to play with too. My younger brothers can also come here and I don’t need to take care of them by myself like I did when we all had to stay at home. At home we were so lonely and I was so tired. I had to take care of them every day and cannot play by myself. I am also really happy that me and my siblings can have breakfast and lunch here. I like the food here.”
