Challenge

As our nation faces devastating natural disasters and man-made tragedies, there is a critical need to provide help and hope to those who are suffering. Give an Hour has the capacity to help those experiencing trauma, loss, grief, and anxiety through its national network of volunteer mental health providers who are eager to do their part. Mental health is as important as your physical health during the critical time of the COVID-19. It's vital to Learn the Healthy Habits.

Solution

Give an Hour has historically opened its network to assist those affected by national tragedies and traumas such as Sandy Hook, the Boston Marathon bombings, Las Vegas, and the Borderline community. Give an Hour extended its services to those affected by natural disasters: Hurricanes Sandy, Harvey, Irma, wildfires and the TN tornadoes. Approximately 4500 licensed mental health providers have provided over 300,000 hours of free mental health services across the U.S. Learn the Healthy Habits now.

Long-Term Impact

Since 2005, Give an Hour has provided free mental health services to U.S. service members, veterans, and their families. Give an Hour's mission is to develop networks of skill-based licensed mental health volunteer professionals capable of responding to both acute and chronic conditions prevalent within society. In 2015, Give an Hour expanded efforts to reach other populations - those affected by natural and man-made disasters. We are educating the public on the Healthy Habits.
