For many of the 120+ teenage mothers we are reaching in Ksmuli, Mwanyagiri, and Kirinya, becoming a mother has been accompanied by difficult economic realities.
Some are raising children without adequate support from their partners or families. Without education, vocational skills, or income opportunities, becoming self-reliant can be extremely challenging.
The Restored Hope for Teenage Mothers initiative seeks to change this by placing skills development at the center of empowerment.
We want young mothers to have opportunities to learn practical skills that can potentially become sources of income. Tailoring, hairdressing, crafts, farming, poultry, and other vocational activities can provide starting points for building livelihoods.
But training is only one part of the journey. Young mothers may also require mentorship, counseling, business guidance, equipment, and starter resources to turn skills into meaningful opportunities.
Donor support can help bridge these gaps.
A sewing machine, training material, vocational session, or mentorship opportunity can become part of a much larger journey toward independence.
Our vision is not to define these young mothers by the circumstances that brought them into motherhood early. We want to help them discover their abilities and build pathways forward.
120+ young mothers are waiting for opportunities to rebuild.
Together with our donors, we can help transform practical skills into greater economic possibilities for young mothers and better prospects for their children.
