Teenage motherhood can place a young girl in an extremely vulnerable position when she is rejected or abandoned by those she depends on. Without support, she may struggle to continue her education, care for her child, or develop the skills needed to earn a living.
Our Restored Hope for Teenage Mothers Program seeks to respond to these challenges with dignity and compassion. We are reaching more than 120 teenage mothers in communities such as Ksmuli, Mwanyagiri, and Kirinya, helping them find pathways toward renewed confidence and opportunity.
Our work combines mentorship, counselling, reproductive health education, family engagement, and practical skills training. We encourage families and communities to create supportive environments where young mothers can rebuild rather than remain isolated.
Skills development is particularly important. Training in tailoring, hairdressing, electrical skills, crafts, and modern farming can help young mothers develop practical abilities that may support future livelihoods. Where possible, we also seek support for their children’s essential needs so that motherhood does not prevent these young women from participating in opportunities designed to strengthen their futures.
Donors are partners in this restoration process. Their contributions can help provide training resources, mentorship, counselling, and livelihood opportunities to young mothers who have limited support.
Restoring dignity begins by recognizing potential. Together with our donors, we can help abandoned teenage mothers regain hope, strengthen their families, develop practical skills, and build futures shaped by opportunity rather than abandonment.
