Update Report on illiteracy and child labour

HOPLE are currently implementing Free Drugs assistance and plan to start Child Education.

Free Drugs Project was founded by an individual Donor within our community who noticed the difficulty that most Vulnerable families are facing especially in regards to health and wellness.

Currently the project have reached 1500 beneficiaries in Damaturu LGA.

And we plan to continue with the activities on 27-10-2023.

Our child Education Project was planned and hoping to start any moment when we have all the kit's we need to start.

Our target

Children, person's with disability, youth and elderly ones.

With your support we can be able to empower and educate many Orphans and Vulnerable Children in our society

SITUATION REPORT ON CRISIS RECOVERY/FLOODING YOBE

The projects is already taking place with support from individuals donations and collaboration with organizations which enables us to provide assistance to most Vulnerable families here in Yobe State Nigeria.

Our main focus is on enrolment and supporting girls child Education and also we support orphans and most Vulnerable Children with primary School writing materials we have been able to support 350 children.

We also been able to distribute food and non food assistance such as math's, Blankets, women bags, Hijab and we also been able to distribute hygiene promotion kit's during sensitisation activities on Hygiene which was conducted in Yusufari, Damaturu and Bade Local Governmet Yobe State of Nigeria.

The total population reached on sensitisation activities 560 women 450 Men 110

We also been able to distribute hygiene promotion kit's, food assistance, clothes, math's, Blankets and other NFIs kit's to 80 widowers and most Vulnerable women's

The assistance was being given to caregivers of the school enrolling Children who were supported by HOPLE

Challenges

The population of the people who are in need are increasingly due to some reason beyond expectations such increasing price of petroleum which have caused high cost of product.

Lack of enough resources to provide assistance to identified Vulnerable families.

Water scarcity, the communities which leads the people to drinks and use unsafe water.

Unproductive land for farming systems

High number of School dropout children

High rate of Unemployment

Recommendations

Their is need for Borehole construction in identified locations where people and their animals are suffering due to water scarcity

Their is need of enrolling Children to primary School and Support them with uniforms, School bag, food and writings materials this will enable them to focus on their study.

Their is need for advocacy visit to stakeholders on hygiene promotion, enrolment of Primary School children and support the caregivers with small scale businesses this will enable the caregivers to continue taking responsibilities of their school going children.

Construction of Borehole, this will ease the burden of water scarcity to the community people
