Guarantee health services for LGBTIQ+ community

Thanks to the support of our GlobalGiving community, between June and September we combined community action and science to close health gaps. We provided free testing, legal counsel, and psychological support to thousands of people, trained Patagonian municipal teams, and brought together regional leaders at our symposium to transform scientific evidence into real rights.

Between June and September: 

• 1,400 free HIV and STI tests provided at our health center and through community outreach.
• 935 participants engaged in our educational networks (305 in-person and 630 virtual attendees).
• 1,650 individuals received free legal counseling.
• 220 people accessed free specialized psychological support.
• 1,200+ attendees participated in the 23rd edition of our Regional Scientific Symposium.

The dedication of our GlobalGiving community continues to be essential in driving Fundación Huésped's impact. In this period, we focused our efforts on reaching different corners of Argentina, collaborating to improve late HIV diagnosis rates, and continuing to position scientific knowledge at the service of comprehensive healthcare.

• Sexual and Reproductive Health in Argentine Patagonia
  Amid a steady increase in Sexually Transmitted Infections, we implemented a capacity-building strategy to address local prevention, diagnosis, and treatment needs. We trained more than 90 municipal team members, leaving sustainable capacity in 5 municipalities across the Neuquén province to plan and execute community-based sexual health interventions.
  
  
• HIV Testing Day
  In Argentina, 1 in 2 people living with HIV receives a late diagnosis, an indicator that grew steadily between 2021 and 2025. To address this reality, we hosted a community testing day offering free, rapid, and confidential tests in González Catán—one of the most vulnerable areas in Buenos Aires. Simultaneously, we launched the mass awareness campaign "Ya testeaste tu pasión, ahora testeá tu salud" ("Test your passion, now test your health"), leveraging the national excitement around the Argentine soccer team matches to promote timely testing. 
  
  
• Fundación Huésped Symposium
  From August 26 to 28, we hosted our regional symposium, bringing together over 1,200 healthcare professionals and leaders. Over three days, we tackled key priorities such as rising STI rates, ChemSex, long-acting antiretroviral therapies, and the challenges of Comprehensive Sexuality Education (ESI).

Each of these actions reflects our daily commitment to bridging the gap between scientific advancement and people's everyday lives. None of this would be possible without the continued trust and support of our GlobalGiving community.
