The Impact of the GlobalGiving Community on FH

Summary
This quarter, Fundación Huésped celebrates 36 years of unwavering commitment to health and rights. Thanks to the GlobalGiving community, we’ve deepened our impact—from reaching over 5 million people through a massive World AIDS Day campaign with top streaming partners to providing more than 3,400 free health, legal, and educational services. This report highlights how collective solidarity continues to turn local challenges into life-saving access and community empowerment.

Our Impact

Between October and January, we conducted 1,673free tests for HIV and other STIs, maintaining a consistent presence both at our health center and through strategic community outreach.
Our legal team provided expert guidance and support to 1,540 individuals, ensuring that barriers to health and discrimination are addressed through professional counseling.
We provided specialized psychological care to 195 people, offering a safe space for emotional support and mental health wellness.
In the last quarter of the year, 146 people participated in our educational programs, strengthening the reach of comprehensive sexual education.

Recent Key Activities

For the first time, we participated in the Buenos Aires Pride Parade with a dedicated float. This initiative, supported by various artists, served as a powerful awareness tool, celebrating diversity while channeling visibility directly into our health services.
To commemorate World AIDS Day, we partnered with OLGA, one of Argentina’s largest streaming platforms, for a massive awareness broadcast. Our overall campaign reached over 5 millionpeople across traditional media, digital platforms, and social networks. On that day alone, we conducted 127 free HIV tests in public spaces, bringing diagnosis directly to the community.

As we celebrate our 36th anniversary, we look back with prideon how far we have come and look forward with determination. This milestone is a testament to the collective power of solidarity that continues to guarantee healthcare as a fundamental right for all—a mission that is only possible thanks to your unwavering support through GlobalGiving, which transforms every contribution into the essential care and dignity that our community deserves.

Fundacion Huesped: Building Bridges to Care

Summary
In recent months, Fundación Huésped has deepened its presence in vulnerable communities throughout Argentina, bringing health services closer to those who need them most. Our teams have provided thousands of free HIV and syphilis tests, as well as counseling, legal advice, and mental health support. Each encounter reinforces our commitment to inclusion, dignity, and the right to access comprehensive health services without discrimination.

Key milestones from our recent activities

In recent months, more than 2.000 people were tested at our center, and an additional 250 during our community-based testing events
1.600 individuals received legal support.
270 people accessed free psychological support, both individually and in group sessions.
706 individuals were trained through our courses on comprehensive sexual education.

Recent Key Activities

GlobalGiving’s continued support has allowed Fundación Huésped to keep moving forward, bringing health services closer to those most in need and accomplishing meaningful results along the way.

At our center, we celebrated HIV Testing Day 2025, an initiative that raises awareness about the importance of early diagnosis and encourages people to know their status. During this special day, we provided free, confidential testing and counseling to 130 people.

We also hosted our Annual Scientific Symposium, welcoming more than 1100 participants from across Argentina and the region. This event brings together researchers, healthcare professionals, and policymakers to share the latest scientific evidence and strengthen the link between research and public health action.

We celebrated Freddie for a Day, honoring the month of Freddie Mercury’s birth with a live listening session of one of his iconic albums. We invited all our donors to join this evening of music and solidarity, a tribute to the artist whose legacy continues to inspire our work for a world free of stigma.

Fundacion Huesped: Advancing Free Healthcare

Summary
Over the past few months, Fundación Huésped has continued to provide vital, no-cost services throughout Argentina, including HIV and syphilis testing, counseling on sexual health, legal support, and mental health care. These efforts have reached thousands of individuals, particularly in vulnerable and underserved communities.

Key milestones from our recent activities

13.465 cases attended in our personalized care centers.
1.459 individuals received legal support.
295 people accessed free psychological support, both individually and in group sessions.
1300 individuals were trained through our courses on comprehensive sexual education.

Recent Key Activities

Thanks to the generous donations received through GlobalGiving, Fundación Huésped was able to conduct key outreach activities over the past few months.

During the summer vacation period—a time of high travel across Argentina—we organized a community-based testing event at one of the country’s most popular train stations: Mar del Plata. This strategic timing allowed us to reach a large number of people in transit who might not otherwise have access to testing in their home communities. Our team provided free rapid HIV testing, counseling, and educational activities focused on HIV prevention and sexual health. These initiatives are essential to promote early diagnosis and reduce barriers to healthcare access for mobile and often underserved populations.

In parallel, our Executive Director, Leandro Cahn, participated in a public conversation on comprehensive sexuality education during a live talk at the Ticmas stand at the Buenos Aires Book Fair. In dialogue with journalist Patricio Zunini, he reflected on the importance of addressing topics such as masculinities, sexual education, and the role of adults in supporting adolescents—emphasizing that ESI (Comprehensive Sexuality Education) not only informs, but also helps build citizenship and inclusion.

Additionally, Fundación Huésped launched a new partnership with the Córdoba Legislature to strengthen HIV and STI prevention. This joint initiative offers free virtual training courses for healthcare professionals, educators, activists, and community organizations, aiming to enhance public knowledge and build local capacity across the country.
