Training on Human Rights and Good Governance This project, organized to celebrate the 76th anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights, aims to train 200 young people from the 19 regions of Mali and the district of Bamako. Additionally, 100,000 copies of the Declaration translated into Bambara, the most widely spoken local language in Mali, will be distributed to 100 schools in Mali.
The main issue is the lack of knowledge and awareness among young Malians about human rights and good governance. This gap limits their civic participation, perpetuates corruption and social injustice, and leads to ineffective governance. Limited access to educational resources in local languages, such as Bambara, exacerbates the problem, resulting in low engagement in decision-making processes and increased social instability.
This project will address the issue by training 200 young people from Mali's 19 regions and Bamako district on human rights and good governance. It will also distribute 100,000 copies of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights translated into Bambara to 100 schools. This will increase awareness, promote civic participation, reduce corruption, and foster social justice by providing accessible educational resources and empowering youth to engage in decision-making processes.
The potential long-term impact of this project includes a better understanding of human rights and good governance among young people, leading to increased civic participation and more transparent and accountable governance. This can reduce corruption and promote social justice. Additionally, by training informed and engaged youth, the project will contribute to social stability and sustainable development, creating a solid foundation for a more equitable and prosperous future in Mali.
