The project will provide leadership skills, life skills including HIV & AIDS and sexual reproductive health rights information, youth dialogue, sanitary pads and toiletries, participation in HURESIC volley ball club to 50 members of HURESIC youth club in Dan village
There are more than 200 youth in Dan and surrounding villages who are not involved in youth development activities who roam the streets indulging in alcohol abuse resulting in involvement in unprotected sexual relations and other unethical activities. Youth are at risk of contracting HIV, teenage pregnancy, crime, undermining school authorities and dropping out from schools at early age. Male youth forms gangsters that are threatening life of the community residents including children and youth.
HURESIC form youth clubs where youth are taught leadership skills, life skills, conduct preventive HIV and AIDS information dissemination, youth dialogue, crime diversion intervention such as sports, cultural and exchange activities. The organisation also distribute materials such as girls sanitary pads, toiletries for all members of youth club. Youth are also involved in research projects on trending issues of youth life locally and nationally.
The project will educate provide services to 50 members of HURESIC youth club who use acquired information to train 200 youth in other villages that will make them live a responsible life focusing on education free from all forms of unethical behavior, complete their schooling and get jobs to work for their families.
