While the waters have receded, the cleanup in the Bahamas has just begun. On Great Abaco Island, there is rubble as far as the eye can see. Samara and her 18 month old son Jalen survived Dorian, huddled together as the roof blew off their home. As the winds blew, the walls shook- and then collapsed. Luckily, they survived. Others weren't so lucky.
With such immense devastation, Samara and Jalen are just trying to survive. They've built a small shack out of plywood, and covered it with a blue tarp. They both received medical care from our partners on the ground, and thanks to you, diapers for Jalen. Samara's face lit up when she received the diapers, a burden lifted from her shoulders. Now, Samara & Jalen can focus on other crucial needs.
Through people like you- people committed to caring for people - over 100 children have received diapers. Thank you for being a beacon of light.
Blessings,
~ Stephanie
