Thank you for your generous contribution to the Hurricane Ian Relief Fund. It has been more than one month since Hurricane Ian made landfall in Cuba and then in southwest Florida as one of the strongest storms to impact the United States in the past decade. Since the launch of this fund, GlobalGiving has sent emergency grants to four vetted nonprofit partner organizations at the forefront of providing critical assistance to those in need.
Here is a short description of the critical relief and recovery work you’ve supported:
Your support of GlobalGiving’s Hurricane Ian Relief Fund powers community-led disaster recovery. Here is what Nezahualcoyotl Xiuhtecutli, General Coordinator for the Farmworker Association of Florida, shared about the impact of your donation:
“We really appreciate your help and trust in helping us bring relief to farmworker families across Florida. You and GlobalGiving are bringing so much peace to farmworker families during this difficult time. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you!”
Thank you for your generosity. In the next two weeks, GlobalGiving will make an additional round of emergency grants to support local organizations in Florida on the front lines of Hurricane Ian relief and recovery. Please expect more email updates like this one in your inbox in the months to come. You can find a full list of vetted GlobalGiving partners that have received grants from the Hurricane Ian Relief Fund at the end of this report.
With immense gratitude,

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.
We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.
They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
