Background during and after the implementation of the project; As we enter 2016, the refugee crisis in Lebanon is not improving; particularly this can be seen as the Syrian crisis enters year five. Using the most recent UNRWA and UNHCR figures as a foundation, on 30th November 2015 UNHCR has a recorded a total of 1,070,789 Syrian refugees from Syria, while as of 31st October UNHCR has recorded a total 44,227 Palestine refugees from Syria.[1] These refugees are dispersed throughout the country, and while their basic needs may differ from location to location. According to the Vulnerability Assessment Framework conducted by UNHCR, approximately 25% of Lebanon’s current population is refugees from Syria[2] Regarding the situation of the refugees women and girls is still miserable, the CEDAW didn’t not applied with the refugees women especially inside the camps as the most highlighted concern of the refugees and particularly the women is to ensure the living for day by day. Adding to this the taboos and current cultures that deprive them from enjoying their rights, in addition to the stigma “ Male Communities” that controls the Arab communities. Women and young girls participation are limited within the boundaries of their families and the final decisions are taken by them.
Naba’a Achievements; we form partnerships and work to inspire as many people as we can to participate in our cause - delivering a better future particularly for children and women. But we can’t do this alone. Together with our psychosocial support, education and protection programs, the most marginalized and at risk of abuse children need the support of their families, communities and local government agencies to realize their rights.
- Monthly community-based health education and psychosocial support sessions conducted by the community mothers reached around 750 women
- Monthly Psychosocial and reproductive health support conducted by the health educators which reached for 480 youth and adolescents and 480 women and adults.
- Two Campaigns based on the issues raised by the youth, regarding the health risks facing them were con-ducted to reach more than 3500 persons including adults, youth and women.
- 700 Children (400 inside Schools and 300 dropout of schools) 70% of them are females were provided equal opportunity in education. The children benefited from educational activities, learning support for children inside school, accelerated learning program and vocational training. In addition, the project focused on enhancing the self— esteem and building the personality of the children, conflict resolution, communication and package of life skills.

About the girl: She is 13 years old she is Palestinian refugee from Syria, she came to Lebanon during the Syria crisis, she lives with her family consisting of 5 members. The girl lives in Ein el helwe camp , , they lives in a small house ( two rooms) and it doesn’t contain any basic needs.
Economic situation: Due to the difficult economical situation of this family her father didn’t find a stable job till now, and they depend on aid provided by the associations and UNRWA.
Social situation;
The relation between the girl and her mother : the relation between the girl and her mother is good , but she looks at her mother as weak person where she can participate in any decision related to their life. The relation between girl and her father : is very bad and she exposed to violence daily where her father is obliging her to get marry. Relation with her brothers : it’s a good relation , she love them and take care of them.
The main problem;
Three months ago, the girl left her home and went to her uncle home, since her father is obliging her to get marry from a person who is one of her father’s relatives. He is justifying this, by saying that, he wants to get rid from her life expenses, therefore, he is always beating her and treating her in a very bad and violent way
