ACDI has expanded its work to La Cocha, a municipality located in the southernmost part of Tucumán province, Argentina. With over 35,000 inhabitants, the local economy is predominantly based on agriculture, particularly tobacco and soy cultivation.
As part of our focus on food security and community support, we conducted visits to family gardens to better understand the challenges they face in food production. Each family has unique circumstances, and through these visits, we co-develop tailored strategies to improve their productivity and sustainability.
We also introduced the KOKUE app, a technological tool that supports families in managing their crops. The app provides practical information such as planting techniques, maintenance, and care for agroecological gardens, specifically designed to meet local needs.
Through KOKUE, we continue to enhance the families' production capabilities, helping them incorporate a wider variety of vegetables into their daily diets. This not only improves the nutritional quality of the food they consume but also fosters food autonomy and reduces external dependency.
