Jacinto is 65 years old and lives in the small town of La Esperanza, in La Cocha, Tucumán. He is married, has five daughters, and already enjoys the company of two grandchildren.
A year ago, he joined the family gardens program promoted by ACDI. When he is not working in the grain harvest, he dedicates his time to the garden, which has now become essential not only for his livelihood but also for his daily life.
From the very beginning, Jacinto received guidance on how to use the Kokue app, which allows him to access technical advice and solve doubts anytime. As he shared with us: “I used to attend training sessions, but I often didn’t remember everything that was explained, and I wasn’t comfortable taking notes. Now I have the app on my phone, and I can look up the information whenever I need it.”
The support also reached his family: his wife participated in digital marketing workshops, which gave her new ideas to promote and strengthen the work they do together.
For Jacinto, the garden is much more than food production. It is an intergenerational meeting space where he enjoys working side by side with his grandchildren. He feels he is passing on values of hard work, patience, and love for the land, while dreaming that they will continue valuing life in the countryside and the importance of healthy food.
Thanks to your support, stories like Jacinto’s are possible. Every donation turns into seeds, training, and guidance so that more rural families can strengthen their access to food and their hope for the future.
