Needs Map brings together people in need with individuals, institutions, and organizations that want to support through its map-based technology and facilitates cooperation and solidarity in areas such as education, health, culture, and arts through confirmed spatial data technology and community-based verification function. In Turkey, where social cooperatives have only recently started to become widespread, Needs Map which is one of the exemplary organizations in this field, continues to work with its stakeholders to create a safe social impact.
Through Needs Map, you can filter the needs by location and type with advanced filtered features, and support the confirmed needs. Until today, more than 110,000 members, over 350 NGOs, more than 100 private sector organizations and hundreds of public institutions representatives have utilized Needs Map Platform, and more than 10 million needs items have been supported.
As a result of opportunity inequality emerging from social and economic hardships that deepening day by day, Needs Map produces solutions for all underserved communities. With this purpose, it has implemented and continues to implement numerous project with various stakeholders both nationally and internationally.
The need to provide comprehensive and efficient solutions to the needs arising during disaster and crisis times that are becoming more frequent both in Turkey and worldwide, has become an important necessity for countries. Needs Map has gained a lot of experience about to conduct effective coordination, assistance, and recovery works and has strengthened its ability to adapt its project and technological power to use it in this context.
The other field of work of Needs Map is local economic development which is ignored due to the centralized humanitarian assistance mechanisms. In order to provide a solution to this problem, which deepens especially in times of crisis, Needs Map considers including local economic actors in humanitarian aid activities.
