Needs Map continues to create community benefit in Turkey and globally through its solidarity-based structure and technology-supported solutions. Since its establishment, the platform has connected those in need with supporters in a transparent, fast, and secure way. It particularly stands out for its effective coordination and contribution to local development during times of crisis.
Rapid Response and Innovative Support in Disasters
Following the devastating earthquake centered in Kahramanmaras on February 6, 2023, which affected 11 provinces, Needs Map once again demonstrated its capacity for swift, sustainable, and inclusive disaster response. Through its crisis desk and field teams, it quickly organized a robust aid network to deliver essential needs such as shelter, food, hygiene, healthcare, and heating. Thanks to its GIS infrastructure, Needs Map was able to map those needs in real time and match them with supporters instantly.
Under the “Disaster NGO Network,” Needs Map coordinated with local NGOs, cooperatives, youth groups, and volunteers. This network not only facilitated aid delivery but also provided psychosocial support, educational workshops for children, and resources for restoring livelihoods.
Supporting Local Economies
Needs Map is committed to long-term development as well as emergency relief. Since the second half of 2023, it has supported regional economic recovery by assisting local producer cooperatives and small enterprises, particularly in Hatay, Adyaman, and Malatya. Through the provision of materials, technical training, and mentorship, the organization has contributed to rebuilding local economies. Women producers have been a particular focus. Products made by women’s cooperatives were distributed locally and also marketed online, enabling women’s economic participation and strengthening solidarity-based economies in the disaster zone.
Digital Infrastructure and Transparency
Needs Map’s digital infrastructure ensures the transparency and traceability of the entire process—from entering needs to monitoring support. Its map-based system allows supporters to track where their aid is going, increasing trust and making the voices of those in need more visible.
Global Expansion
With the opening of offices in Brussels (2022) and the UK (2023), Needs Map aims to expand its social impact across UK and Europe. These strategic moves improve access to international resources and facilitate the sharing of best practices between regions. In tackling global issues such as social service, disaster management, humanitarian aid and migration, Needs Map’s local-to-global strategy strengthens its capacity to provide effective, context-specific solutions.

Needs Map’s mission is not only to meet immediate needs but also to develop sustainable models that promote social justice and equality. Through projects in education, health, arts, and sports, it strives to build a more inclusive and equitable future.
