A Story of Survival and Support: Meet Alina and Sofia
Alina and her daughter Sofia lived in Trostyanets during the occupation by russian forces. In March 2022, Alina's husband was taken away by soldiers. Alina remembers seeing her husband one last time, asking for help before being taken away. After the city was liberated, Alina learned the heartbreaking news that her husband would not be coming back.
Since May 2023, Alina and Sofia have been under our care. They’ve received support through 27 different aid programs, including:
