During World Immunization Week, this project will reach 1050 children missed by routine healthcare and those living in slums, rural settlements, and conflict-affected communities. By taking vaccines directly to families, we protect children from preventable diseases and give every child a fair start at life, regardless of where they are born.
Globally, nearly 20 million children miss routine immunization every year, leaving them vulnerable to preventable diseases. Nigeria bears a heavy share of this burden, with over 2 million "zero-dose" children who have never received a single vaccine. These "last-mile" children are most vulnerable to measles, polio, tetanus, and other preventable diseases. World Immunization Week highlights a painful truth: missing even one child puts all children at risk.
To mark World Immunization Week, we deploy mobile health teams to identify and vaccinate missed children in hard-to-reach communities. The project combines door-to-door outreach, community mobilization, caregiver education, and referral support, ensuring no child is overlooked and every dose counts.
Our long-term goal is to close immunization gaps, reduce child mortality, and strengthen community trust in healthcare. By building sustainable outreach systems and informed caregivers, we aim to ensure every child today and in the future receives lifesaving vaccines on time.
