First and foremost,on behalf of Vijana Amani Pamoja (VAP) and particularly this project that you have been unwavering supporting,i would like to convey a message of THANK YOU from the bottom of the project :beneficiaries,communities,staff,volunteers and the board of the organization.Indeed your continous generous donation has been of great impact to the lives of many girls and young women who would have not gotten the many opportunities that your sacrified donation has contributed.Right from providing an opportunity to play soccer as well as having a safe space to talk and discus about issues affecting girl child and young women in general including sexual reproductive health and rights to providing an opportunity for economic and entrepreneural development,as an organization we have witnessed a massive change of lives with the girls and young women that have gone through this project.

Strengthening Economic Pathways for Girls

Coaches training sessions
26 Goal coaches had a 3 days refresher course with an additional new Goal module being introduced to the program. Facilitated by Women Win representative, the new module is tailored to enhance and help girls in vocational training courses to independently choose their pathways in either employability or entrepreneurship. The refresher course created an opportunity for coaches to reflect on the program and discuss both challenges and successes while working with the participants in the communities and schools.
Team:Fashion and Design
Carole and Ajuma are part of the new kids on the block who were recently integrated into various vocational training courses after graduating from football based life skills program. The two are among the 5 girls who are currently doing Fashion and Design, a newly added course within VAP’s vocational training courses.VAP has partnered with Unity College of professional studies to provide quality trainings for the candidates. “My dream is to open my own fashion and design shop also create employment to others.” Said 17yrs old Carole.
Team:Information and Technology
Information and technology class going through their sessions. A total of 10 participants are taking the course. Candidates are taught on computer basics with other additional skills including CV writing, job search through internet amongst other packages.VAP is linking up with various local IT institutions including cyber cafes with aim of creating internship and job placements opportunity for its IT candidates once they graduate. “I want to save some money, then look for a small loan that will help me start my own cyber café.” Said 19 years old Mary.

As an honor to its continuous and committed work of serving the community and maintaining the ‘Superstar status’ on global giving fundraising platform,VAP was awarded with several badges from GlobalGiving during the past Gratitude Week celebrations. The badges included: GlobalGiving Top Ranked organization 2017-actively engaged in the community: GlobalGiving Staff Favorite badge-Selected by someone as a favorite: VAP will continue to create innovation and dynamism in its football based programs whereas learning from other like-minded organizations and community as a whole as it impacts the lives of its participants.” Thanks so much for the awards and more over the support that we get through generous individuals who donate through GlobalGiving fundraising platform. The awards go to the entire community that we serve and we are so grateful to everyone who makes it happen.” Said Enouce, Director, Vijana Amani Pamoja.
