Education East Africa (EEA) is asking you to 'Feed A Hungry Mind' in our rural primary schools in Rwanda and Tanzania. No other English programme is preparing the next generation of East Africans, for participation in the global economy, better than Education East Africa. https://www.educationeastafrica.org/
In Rwanda pupils have to learn all their subjects through the medium of English from day one of their primary education. Many of the teachers we train struggle with English as a second language and so lack the necessary knowledge and methods to be able to provide a quality education to their pupils. In Tanzania pupils only start to learn English in year 3 of primary, and only in secondary school is all their education through the medium of English . However, many primary teachers struggle.
Our partner organisations in Rwanda and Tanzania deliver classroom support for the teaching and learning of English in primary schools. There is no greater impact on lives than teaching teachers English. With over 20 years' experience in Tanzania and 6 years in Rwanda we are a serious part of their development. The core of our work is teacher-to-teacher training, using our own highly instructive books with explanations and instructions in the teachers' native tongue.
Basic education is the key to any lasting development. A single well-trained teacher can lift thousands of children out of poverty. This is the most important work we can do. To date we have improved the education of hundreds of primary school teachers and thousands of pupils. Education is the passport to a self-sustaining life.
