Despite terrible rains and floods, our school team recently managed to get out to rural schools to distribute school bags, books and pens. In some cases we have also supplied school uniform.
It's a little known fact that children that attend school regularly are much less likely to be trafficked. Educational bursaries like this can make all the difference to families who are already struggling financially.
Over the past year we have distributed 1,433 bursaries to children at 37 different schools in the rural district of Makwanpur. Teachers recommend to us which students are in need and would be at risk of dropping out otherwise.
It's thanks to donors like you that we are able to continue this programme. Bursaries start at just £20 for a basic primary school bursary, rising to £47 to a full secondary school bursary with uniform. Please give if you are able to so that we can continue to keep children safe in school.
Thank you
