This report illustrates the progress made for the months of December, January, February and March. The Ngao Foundation, through W.A.S.H ( Water, Sanitation and Hygiene) continues to accelerate WASH practices in the Kangemi community through the creation of awareness, training and collaborations aimed to promote these practices.

During this period the number of households refilling water at the ngao foundation increased by 495. The number of institutions increased by 5 this includes 2 primary schools, 2 pharmacy shops and 1 hospital. The organisation also continues to promote hygienic practices among children every Saturday of the week, these practices include handwashing, personal hygiene, and menstrual hygiene education for young girls and boys.

During this period we also conducted school visits to explore the hygiene condition in schools within the informal settlements. We visited two schools (Morning star academy and Kangemi youth primary school). We found out that in Morning star academy, urgent interventions are needed because the school has only two pit latrines saving over 134 children and a 1000-litre tank serving the same number of students. We had a training for women on waterborne diseases and how to prevent them, a total of 14 women attended the event.

CHALLENGES.

Urgent interventions are needed at Morning star academy where an installation of 10000 litre tank would greatly help in terms of water. The tank costs USD 800 donation of such amount would support 134 boys and girls in the school to have access to clean water.

We still in need of funds to ensure that the target of providing access to clean water for 2000 households is met. Consider donating to our great cause.
