This project is a full-circle comprehensive healthcare initiative that supports the whole person and uplifts entire families and communities. Designed with local realities in mind, it weaves together medical access, dental care, nutrition, education, and food security to address the root causes of malnutrition and poor health in the heart of the Valle de Palajunoj, Guatemala.
In the Valle de Palajunoj, Guatemala, chronic malnutrition and limited access to healthcare put children, mothers, and pregnant women at serious risk. High rates of malnutrition, preventable illness, and food insecurity are common across rural communities. Families often lack the tools, resources, and knowledge to build healthier lives, perpetuating cycles of poverty and poor health.
This program provides monthly nutrition monitoring, family food gardens, non-perishable food support, mobile medical and dental clinics, and health education workshops. It addresses malnutrition and poor health from every angle by treating urgent needs while building long-term self-sufficiency in five rural Guatemalan communities.
By addressing root causes of malnutrition and poor health, the program creates lasting change for entire families. Mothers gain skills to care for their children and themselves. Children grow up healthier and stronger. Families become more food secure and informed. Over time, this holistic, community-driven approach fosters resilience, dignity, and self-reliance across generations.
