Summary

Our Vision is a world in which Charities are able to harness the full potential of technology to increase their impact for good. Our Mission is to help Charities make best use of Information technology by working in partnership to provide affordable, high quality, support and guidance. We, the Charity IT Association (CITA) have a target to support 20 charities, with unlimited Information management and technical support through our network of 800 members.

Challenge

By talking to Charities about their experiences, we learned that they were typically under-resourced in the areas of IT, didn't know whom to ask or to trust about their IT problems, and weren't aware of the resources available to them in terms of IT expertise. Through our own individual experiences, the members of CITA were also conscious that many Charities have a tactical, rather than strategic, approach to IT.

Solution

The Project will be funding affordable IT services and will reduce expensive outsourced solutions. It will enable charities to research and develop technical capabilities without entering enduring and costly commercial contracts.

Long-Term Impact

Providing charities with access to advice on a wide range of IT issues with ongoing support and advice, by matching them with a Partner who they can work with on an on-going basis and trust. The broader impact will build technical confidence across the smaller charities allowing them to experiment with technical solutions which support their service users and staff.
