Every child has the right to quality education - whatever their gender or background. Help ISF to educate, motivate, and inspire vulnerable Cambodian girls to challenge the inequalities they face and strive for a future with greater opportunities and hope.
Poverty levels combined with domestic expectations and cultural traditions against Cambodian women results in high dropout rates for female students in lower secondary school and only 15% will go on after grade 9. This lack of education, combined with traditional norms that constrain women's opportunities outside of the household, results in great gender disparities in employment and leadership positions. Consequently, an endless cycle of poverty and discrimination occurs.
Inspiring Women of the Future educates and empowers girls in grade 9. When we support a girl, we invest in all aspects of her life. We not only pay school fees, but provide other essentials, such as school fees, uniforms, books, healthcare, and nutrition. We invest beyond the classroom, through skills training and English and ICT classes, to build their confidence so they can become leaders. We work closely with local communities to raise gender equality and help these girls flourish.
We believe education is key to reaching gender equality and empowering women. With your help, we can break down barriers for girls to go to school, challenge the inequalities they face within their communities, and provide them with the tools they need to lift themselves out of poverty and become leaders of the future.
