We extend our deepest gratitude for your steadfast commitment to the Life-Saving Project. While we faced challenges securing the full funding required for the comprehensive general plan last year, your generous support remains the foundation of our work, and we are determined to launch the next phase of this vital project next year.
2023 Achievements and Local Sustainability
In 2023, thanks to critical funding, particularly from the GlobalGiving Hope in Crisis Fund, we successfully implemented three new water supply points across three remote, underserved villages.
A key indicator of success is the project's sustainability: our most recent field inspection report confirms that the host community has successfully managed the filling and distribution of the water tanks. The locally agreed-upon distribution mechanism is proceeding smoothly, ensuring equitable access to water for all beneficiary village members.
The Ongoing Challenge and Urgent Relief Action
The need for sustainable water solutions remains acute. These three villages, situated in difficult mountainous terrain, suffer from extreme water scarcity, a crisis further exacerbated by recurring climatic changes and the delay of the rainy season this year.
Given the existing funding gap for the long-term project plan, our team proactively mobilized an urgent relief campaign. Despite the significant obstacles posed by bumpy roads and difficult access points, we successfully transported and distributed water to families across the project area using a 7,000-liter capacity water truck over several days. This relief was essential in bridging the immediate gap for families facing drought conditions.
Future Focus: Phase II Expansion
We are currently planning to initiate the next stage of implementation, Phase II, by Mar 2026. This critical expansion will target new, equally vulnerable locations, broadening the project's reach and impact.
We urgently appeal for your continued partnership and financial support to ensure we can fully fund and execute the comprehensive general plan. Every donation directly contributes to securing consistent, life-saving water access and building long-term resilience in these communities.
