Preparing the land for new Learning Processes

After several years of cooperation and friendship between Alianza Arkana and the Native Community of Santa Clara, we have decided to look together towards the horizon and walk towards it. And what is that horizon? The answer is Community Education through the program "Amazonian Permaculture School (APS)".

Since we are aware that acquired practical experiences must be shared, we decide to create a space for sharing this knowledge, where special consideration is given to the Nature knowledge, its benefits and uses. The APS will bring together all that knowledge and its techniques with the youth and adults of Santa Clara. We also hope other communities or foreigners will want to join us to learn together and exchange experiences.

For archiving this, we need: to develop forestry, agricultural and other useful systems; learning plots, micro-projects based on results, as well as mutual learning workshops with the Community to collect and share knowledge about productive management. So many reasons to look at the APS as a horizon, and all the previous stages to reach it.

What have we been doing? These months we have dedicated our work to redesign, plan and initiate some infrastructure improvement activities and entrepreneurship. We acquired 200 chickens that will grow in a pleasant and clean space. More than 400 species, including timber and fruit trees -many of them medicinal, are about to get plant and we are very excited about beeing part of reforesting the Amazonas. We also improved our warehouse facilities, which has now a small space to overnight when necessary.

We will be giving more details of each of our activities towards the consolidation of the Amazonian Permaculture School in the Native Community of Santa Clara. But remember, the work time and speed also depends on the funds we receive, your support is essential to continue and we will always be very grateful for any contribution you make, no matter the amount.

We keep walking!
