Monte Adentro plans to build and install 9 internet towers with the necessary equipment to guarantee connectivity to the inhabitants of 9 vulnerable rural communities located in the province of Chaco, Argentina, in order to bridge the "digital gap"
We work in 17 rural communities with 422 families that dont have access to internet while this access is becoming increasingly decisive for personal and community development. In an increasingly technological world, accessing the internet is a necessary condition to guarantee equal opportunities. With these 9 internet antennas, we will be able to guarantee internet access for all rural communities with which we work to achieve equality in access to information, education and training
In each rural community we will install an internet tower with a robust antenna and provide computer workshops in rural schools. At the same time, internet receiving antennas will be installed in the rural schools so that they have access to the service, and community members can also do so when approaching the school
This initiative will allow the following achievements of high impact and rural development: - Knowledge and acquisition of computer tools by the rural population. - Promote school education by developing the capacity in students and teachers to use digital classrooms. -Ability for local people to market own products. -Access to new sources of information. -Possibility to study high school and higher education careers online, for both young people and adults who have not finished their studies
