Wendy is a girl who hopes to improve her living situation. She is 11 years old, the youngest of three, and loves to go to school. Wendy’s mother is a stay-at-home mom and her father works day and night to improve his family’s living situation. He is a farmer and earns $75 per month.
Wendy and her siblings have been a part of Asociación Nuestros Ahijados del Salvador for 6 years. Before that the family had no outside support. The children went to school but it was hard for the family to pay for 3 children to go to school. Wendy’s mother was about to pull them out of school so Nuestros Ahijados enrolled them in the program so that they could continue their education.
Upon being enrolled in the program the children were able to receive a scholarship to continue going to school. Wendy is currently in 4th grade and received rice and beans each month so that she can eat well. She also receives a monthly scholarship and all of the benefits that Nuestros Ahijados provides its beneficiaries with.
Wendy’s mom is very glad that she has the help of Nuestros Ahijados since it has helped her and her children have a better life.
