Thank you - we cannot express our gratitude enough. Your generosity has had a significant impact on the communities affected by the devastating floods that struck Italy's Emilia-Romagna region earlier this year.

Your generous contribution to the Italy Flood Relief Fund powered two grants to enable high-impact and community-led nonprofit organizations at the forefront of this crisis. Here is a description of the critical work you’ve supported:

  • Fondazione La Stampa Specchio dei tempi onlus has been working closely with schools, small businesses, farming and livestock families, as well as individuals with disabilities in the aftermath of the floods. The organization is actively supporting repair and rehabilitation work for schools that were affected by flooding, ensuring a safe and comfortable learning environment for students, and playing a pivotal role in supporting the recovery and resilience of small businesses by providing small business grants.

  • The Italian Red Cross has been a steadfast pillar of support to all flood-affected communities in the region. It has been focused on both emergency relief and long-term recovery. Through its reconstruction committee, the organization has placed a specific focus on supporting several educational facilities that were badly damaged. This includes, for example, replacing and repairing the furniture of a school in the municipality of Lugo.

This fund is no longer accepting donations, and this will be the last fund report of this kind from our team. You can stay connected with our work through Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and our Learn Library, where we regularly share stories about the incredible impact of the powerful GlobalGiving community. We hope you’ll stay in touch!

With gratitude,

Victoria  + the GlobalGiving Team

About GlobalGiving’s Disaster Response

When a disaster strikes, recovery efforts led by people who live and work in affected communities are often overlooked and underfunded. GlobalGiving is changing this reality. Since 2004, we've been shifting decision-making power to crises-affected communities through trust-based grantmaking and support.

We make it easy, quick, and safe to support people on the ground who understand needs in their communities better than anyone else.

They were there long before the news cameras arrived, and they’ll be there long after the cameras leave. They know how to make their communities more resilient to future disasters, and they’re already hard at work. GlobalGiving puts donations and grants directly into their hands. Because the status quo—which gives the vast majority of funding to a few large organizations—doesn’t make sense.
