Fresh Year, Fresh Look! That is our motto for 2019-2020 at the School of Hope in Jocotenango, Guatemala. Our focus is to renovate our bathrooms to implement and maintain good hygiene practices that support vital preventative health among our students. This will provide safe and clean facilities in the school so that students can come and learn and be kids. In addition to our major bathroom renovations, we're also in the process of providing our entire school with a fresh look via new paint!
Our student bathrooms are in dire need of renovation. As our student numbers grow, the bathrooms we built nearly a decade ago need major work to keep up with our growth and maintain our high standards of health and cleanliness. Will you help us provide the funds for twenty new toilets, twenty new sinks, faucets, mirrors, stalls and doors to ensure privacy, as well as tiles, paint, and cement to fix our bathrooms and provide our students with what they deserve? With your help, we can do this!
Our students cannot perform to their potential unless they have a clean and healthy space to study, learn, and play. The ONLY solution to this current situation is completely re-do our student bathrooms as well as other minor upgrades throughout the school. This project will have a measurable and visible impact on the health and learning of our students, as well as creating a long-lasting and severely needed change. With your help, we can make these changes!
There will be an immediate impact for our students, who will have clean, modern bathrooms to use at school. The smiles on their faces will attest to this! Longer term impacts include improved student health; a clean and safe place to study and learn; and the ability to practice the basic hygienic bathroom etiquette that they are learning in our school. Every child deserves a clean, healthy, and safe school. The major upgrades of our bathrooms will provide this to our students!
