Thank you to everyone who has supported the Jambiani Center in Zanzibar!
Adam was a student in our adult literacy classes. When he joined us, he was too shy to speak in class and it took 3 attempts to pass his exam in the Beginners Class. He never gave up though! Through a hard work ethic and an impressive attendance record over the past two years, Adam graduated with a job offer! A local hotel offered Adam a job as a tour guide because of his exceptional English skills.
We recently received the news that he isn't just working for one hotel now, but for five! Including some of the island's swankiest hotels! We are so proud of him!
Adam is no longer the shy student that he was in our Beginners Class – in fact, now it’s hard to get a word in edgeways when talking to him! He is an inspiring example of how determination and hard work can produce incredible results when you have the right support and resources.
This project would not be possible without you, and with the addition of a computer centre we will be able to give people in Zanzibar an even greater chance at gaining employment and breaking out of poverty.
Donate today and give individuals like Adam a brighter future!
