African Impact Foundation is committed to reducing education inequality in Zambia, where over a quarter of a million children are not enrolled in school and 47% do not finish primary school. Our sponsorship program covers school fees, uniforms, learning materials, and much more per year, while also offering regular student support, parent engagement workshops, and preparatory coaching for post Grade 12 planning.
Zambia is an exceedingly poor country, with 78% of the population living on less than a dollar daily. Access to basic education is only a dream for children living in extreme poverty. 47% of children in Zambia do not finish primary school. 41% of Zambian children are forced into labour and almost 1 million girls in Zambia are forced into early marriage every year. The challenges faced by the Livingstone community pose a vital need to create opportunities to break free from poverty.
We provide children, identified and assessed by our local community partners, with the opportunity to go to school through sponsorship donations. In Zambia, students are required to write exams at the end of grade 7 and 9 in order to continue to the next grade. Last year, 100% of the students in our program passed and were able to begin grade 8 and 10. Many of the students in our Sponsor a Child program go on to post-secondary studies, which for many families is a dream come true.
Education is one of the most powerful and sustainable ways to fight poverty. Unfortunately, millions of Zambian children cannot attend school due to financial constraints, inadequate infrastructure, and other barriers. Through the ongoing sponsorship, we aim to provide quality education to children in need, particularly those in rural or underprivileged communities. With your support, we can provide children in Livingstone with the vital tools they need to reach their full potential.
